A Near Real-Time Tactical Land C4I Assessment Capability

چکیده
The tactical land command, control, communications, computer and intelligence structure is essentially an array of complex and dynamic systems of systems. In this paper we address a capability deficiency in the identification and analysis of critical information requirements, flows and processes to support decision-making within this tactical structure. We accomplish this by incorporating modelling, simulation and wargame technology to create an environment whereby military users, analysts and developers can interact to provide near real-time analysis of tactical command control, communications, computer and intelligence systems, and combat tactics, techniques and procedures during command post exercise activities. The usefulness of the study environment stems from its ability to provide a controlled experiment setting to support the development and analysis of both current and future information management and dissemination technologies aimed at assisting the tactical commanders decision-making process. We demonstrate the environment via a battle group digitisation experiment.

A Comparison of the Land C2 Information Exchange Data Model And the WARSIM Object Model
This paper presents the results of a case study in assessment of data alignment between C4I and M&S models. In the C4I domain the model is NATO's Land C2 Information Exchange Data Model (LC2IEDM). The LC2IEDM is a relational model, and is an international standard for tactical databases. In the M&S domain, the model is from the Warfighter's Simulation 2000 (WARSIM), the U.S. Army's next-generat...
متن کاملModeling and Simulation Integration with Network-Centric Command and Control Architectures
Network Centric Command and Control operations postulate that the more information we can collect, create, and share about the adversary, the operational environment, our capabilities, readiness, and logistics, the more we can focus our capabilities to produce desired effects with less risk of unintended consequences and more efficient expenditure of national resources. The critical role of the...
متن کاملJOEF (Joint Operational Effects Federation) Architecture
JOEF (Joint Operational Effects Federation) is a simulation federation that supports CBRN (Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear warfare on military operations. Its primary interface to users is JWARN (Joint Warning and Reporting Network), which is an automated reporting of CBRN incidents for the joint or each service. It also automates the transfer of data between CBRN detectors/sensors...
متن کاملThe SIMCI OIPT: A Systematic Approach to Solving C4I/M&S Interoperability
C4I to M&S interoperability is currently facilitated by software interfaces established between specific systems. The development of C4I to M&S interfaces has not been considered one of the primary design requirements for either type of system. This has led to systemic problems in using M&S systems to support C4I system testing, training & experimentation. The Army is addressing these interoper...
